    Description

Here is a Zisha tea set (1 teapot + 6 teacups + 1 set holder) made by Chinese government owned Yixing Zisha First Factory (中国宜兴紫砂一厂) in 1980s.  The artist, Wu yujuan, 吴玉娟, was an excellent young artist at that time.  She has since then become an independent Zisha artist, and her name and her studio are well known in China now.  Her famous work at that time was "Wintry Friends of Three", 岁寒三友 using three colors of clay and forming three spiritual characters: 1) pine tree (bark, leaves, branches) on right side and over the lid; 2) plum tree (branch, flower, twigs) as the holder and stretch to the part of left side; 3) a bamboo stem as the sprout and stretch to the left front side with a bamboo plant。  Presented here is one of her works in 1980s, using the original high quality clay.  Inside the lid has the artist stamp "吴玉娟", and the bottom has an official stamp of "中国宜兴". The 6 teacups were made with white porcelain inside, and Zisha outside.  Both the cups and the set holder were made by other workers, and the quality of the clay is not as good as the clay for the tea pot.
There are some small nibs inside the lid and around the rim, but outside looks intact. Size, 2 3/8" h, 5 3/4" l, 2 7/8" w, 5.9 oz.  Total weight, 1 lb 11 oz.
The price is for the whole set, but if you only want part of the set, please email me to estimate the price.
