This is an auction for an Original Aurora # 1364 INTERNATIONAL WRECKER TOW TRUCK in OLIVE GREEN with its Original Chassis and Box. THIS IS A TRUE SUPER RARE TRANSITION TRUCK. 100% ORIGINAL. I discovered this truck in a small estate collection of a few vibes and some early Tjets several months ago. I paid no attention to her other than she was the desirable green. She looked great with the exception of the broken off flap. Polished up very nicely. THEN OMG!!!. A closer look told me what I had in my hand was rarer than hens teeth. This is one of the FIRST Tow Trucks Aurora ever made. At the time of the new pancake motor Aurora was going to merge the Vibe Truck Trailer into Tjets but they found that they could not attach trailer bodies because of the top plate. The design engineers then came up with this tow truck as an excellent solution. BUT at the time of production the New Cabs with red light were not ready. Aurora used the previously made cab glass from the vibe BUT only on a VERY FEW. UNKNOWN how many of these Exist. LIKELY less than 10. YOU will notice the top has the HORN NOT RED LIGHTS. Also, The side stripe is a different color. This one is SILVER. Bob Beers book references this. I was about to make a new flap for her but decided on Originality. The RED version of this truck has a RED top and White stripes. Seller was asking 00 for her and sold her for an unknown amount. Supposedly only 6 of those known to exist. NO OTHER COLORS ARE KNOWN AT THIS TIME. I have consulted with several experts and we have determined that this is the real thing. Screw posts are both in excellent shape. Paint is ALL ORIGINAL. Chassis is her Original chassis and has the early top plate. Runs great. BOX IS ALSO HER ORIGINAL BOX. SORRY BUT NO LABEL. THIS IS A TRUE HISTORIC MUSEUM PIECE. I do have a reserve on this auction but it will be similar to the book value.
