Up for bid is a set of vintage porcelain Chinese Rice Pattern Tea Mugs with lids, Tea Pot with lid, Sugar Bowl with lid, Creamer and Ladle. All pieces are in very good condition, showing no chips or cracks. The glazing is smooth and bright and may show very slight dark specs inherent with firing the glaze.
Rice pattern “grain" is the name of a technique rather than actual rice grains. To make this kind of decoration the holes are pierced through the rather thick walls of the rough and unfired porcelain and the holes are then filled with a translucent glaze.
