Chlorine Stink Removing Shower Water Filter, Replaceable Cartridge, Easily InstalledDepending on where you live and also depending on seasonal municipal source-water microbe levels, your home's "city water" arrives loaded with pressurized chlorine gas which can be so concentrated in some cities that when depressurized at your kitchen or bathroom faucets so its pressure is reduced from 60 - 80 pounds per square inch to about 14.7 PSI in your home that it can actually fizz and bubble like a newly opened pressurized carbonated pop container. But instead of fizzing out harmless CO2 gas that our bodies produce and we breath out, that water is fizzing out the same chlorine gas that can turn blonde hair slightly green, kills germs, stinks and binds to human tissues. It's good that it killed microbes in your municipal water supply system, but after it's done doing that for you, it would be much better if it were simply removed from your water and prevented from entering your home's air before it can make contact with you and your family members. That's exactly what this water filter does.
Is it hard to install? Not too tough. Unscrew your shower nozzle head which uses the standard size thread for that application. Then screw on the female side of this filter's housing, then screw your shower head back onto the male side of the filter housing. If that's too tough for you or for your family's most "handy" person, you and your family are probably not candidates for owning and enjoying the benefits of having your home showers filtered. How tough is swapping in a new filter cartridge when that is due and apparent from the eventual return of that chlorine smell? Similar procedure. Unscrew the outlet housing section of your water filter from the inlet housing section. Remove the old filter cartridge, replace with a new cartridge, then screw the two housing sections back together. Not rocket science. Pretty much the same procedure as replacing a kitchen faucet-attached water filter a child can do except this is high enough that you may need to use a stool to reach the shower head area.
New, nice looking, easily installed and makes your home better. Not free but not abusively expensive either. Please look at the photo series I took to help you understand how this is configured and how it or they would appear in your shower(s).
