    Description

This is a very unusual device, a dual channel X band rotary joint for a planar array!  This looks like it was made for a flat plane, dual polarization, microstrip or slotted waveguide array. Maybe used for a single plane monopulse array (explain dual channel, if not dual polarization system). This device has two waveguide ports in standard height WR-90 waveguide, with the other port of each channel being reduced height (lower impedance, maybe to drive a microstrip array) waveguide. Frequency range is 8-12 GHz. The cool thing about this device is that it has motion in
    two
    planes
, like an X-Y scanner (two degrees of freedom). This would be consistent with a planar array on the front of a jet, for example.
This is just the RF circuit, the mechanical drive mechanism is not included. Very cool, quite rare, made in late 'eighties, looks unused. It looks like it could be dis-assembled to yield separate waveguide rotary joints, as un-boltable standard flanges are inside center section, meaning there are 4 joints!!
Units Have some scrsatches from Handling all have some minor scratches
Do not Know what they came out of .
