Nice lot of 2 Millimeter Wave Items for RF experimenters.
The lot consists of the following 2 items; the first item is a 9” diameter Ka-Band Antenna from a defunct Hughes Aircraft Company point to point transmitter.
It is a lightweight MMW Cassegrain antenna we believe it was used in the 37 – 40GHz frequency range.
It was precision fabricated from materials such as Foam, fiberglass, woven phenolic and aluminum.
It is mounted on an aluminum plate with fiberglass extension housing on the front with a removable bezel that can secure a thin plastic or fiberglass sheet to protect the antenna from the elements (this protective sheet is NOT included, we DO NOT have). On the back of the antenna’s aluminum mounting plate is a removable plate that has a Waveguide interface to the feed of the dish with a WR-28 compatible mounting pattern for the waveguide that feeds the antenna. The square aluminum plate that holds the antenna also has threaded studs on the rear to allow mounting of a rear enclosure (not included).
The removable plate with the antenna Waveguide port is large enough to allow for the mounting of RF components if one wishes to do so.
The overall size of the Antenna assembly is about 11” X 11” X 9” deep including the waveguide port, and it weighs about 8.85 LBS. The second item is a 3-stage Millimeter Wave RF amplifier.
I was told that its center frequency is 33.6GHz.
It was used as a power amplifier on a MMW instrumentation system.
The active devices are Impatt Diodes and the buyer should put a heatsink on the rear of the brass housings before use as it was originally conduction cooled by the case of the instrument it was installed in.
I do not know the bandwidth, gain, power output, or bias voltages for this item.
These items appear to be in good overall physical and cosmetic condition.
We are unable to test these items but we believe they were functional before the equipment was dismantled. This information is a best effort so BID ACCORDINGLY.
